I bought a copy from Persephone and the first in the village trilogy from Amazon on Kindle. I can highly recommend Persephone books as I have bought several in the past. Thanks for an interesting, if somewhat sad post, Sarah. Flooding is becoming a severe problem, I'd never buy a house on a flood plain. I live in Devon, safely on a hill at the top of a cliff.

I won a little prize last year and I wanted to do something that I would remember with it...so I bought a shelf-ful of Persephone books! They look gorgeous and I haven't found a duff one yet!

Yes, I have quite a few now. They look good and read even better.

I have never heard of John Moore - but this sounds lovely. It looks hard to come by in the US, though..

Those pictures are scary - but I found the Severn (down by the Estuary) to be a little bit terrifying, even when it wasn't flooding.I hope you all are staying dry!

If you're still in Bath, have a look at the Persephone bookshop? They published my copy
