This was a glorious read thank you Sarah. So great to discover Jennifer. When my parents first married they named their pet cat Jenkins (after Roy) but I’d like to think it was after Jennifer now.

Thank you so much for this. I had no knowledge of Jennifer Jenkins. What a woman. That opening letter blew me away. They were clearly deeply in love, and to make her case that early in the marriage was brave and important.

I also loved the letter from her father. He obviously cared deeply about her welfare. Maybe that had something to do with the confidence with which she confronted Roy over his moaning! 😀
